LATEST/LATEST NEWS-
TWO NEW TEXAS STATE RECORDS CAUGHT in PRIVATE WATERS CATEGORY.  First, Keaton May landed a very nice Rainbow in the Junior division, that weighed in at seven pounds thirteen ounces.  Great job Keaton, fish caught on a Mepps Spinner rod & reel.  In the adult division, Bill Hoot smashed his own state record rainbow, fly fishing a #6 Wolly Booger.  Bill's latest Rainbow weighed in at 9.43 pounds on our certified scales, exceeding his two week old Texas State Record by 1.75 pounds.  GO BILL!

NEW DEVELOPMENT- JAMES AND I HAVE BEEN OFFERED A LARGE STOCK OF MATURE BASS UP TO FIVE POUNDS THAT HAVE NEVER SEEN A FISHERMAN. WE PURCHASED THOSE FISH AND WILL HAVE THEM DELIVERED IN LATE APRIL/EARLY MAY.  SHOULD LEAD TO FANTASTIC LATE SPRING FISHING.  IN ADDITION, WE ARE STOCKING TILAPIA IN APRIL TO FURTHER FATTEN EXISTING BASS.

Surface Water Temp. 48 degrees.  Trout active. Bass slow.

Few fisherman due to very cold weather.  Nice days are right around the corner, as well as the beginning of the black bass spawn. Several very large Rainbow have been caught in last two weeks by the hardy souls who have ventured out.  Fish up 8.5 pounds, all very healthy, eating well.  This cold water is like Spring to these big boys.  James and I will announce when trout can be kept.  Probably mid to late March.

Any interested fly fishermen looking for excellent Spring Season fly fishing here in Tarrant County please call.  We are offering short season leases and day fishing while the fishing is excellent.  817-209-8819

Remember, Rainbow are CATCH & RELEASE for now,
unless fish is severely injured and will not survive.
Recently a member caught a rainbow with a fungus on the sides.
This fish would have died within weeks, best to remove from lakes.
This injury and fungus attack is caused whenever a fish is over handled by a fisherman.  You could see the hand imprints on the fish's sides where it had been held, thus removing the natural protective slime
covering that prevents everpresent natural fungus from attaching to a fish.
This can happen to any fresh water fish species so we should always try to have our hands wet if we touch a fish we plan to release, and handle them to a minimum if you plan to do catch and release.

All lakes full pool, water clear, water running thru.  Several new brush piles placed in both larger lakes
in water around 8 to 10 foot in depth.

Use of bait, other than artificial lures/flies is limited to children. Only exception is for adults fishing in Lago De Pescadoes Grande.
